Bees or wasps on COUNCIL PROPERTY?

Please lodge a request and a Council appointed Officer will visit the site and assess the situation.


• If there is HIGH risk to the public, Council will engage a contractor to potentially treat the bees or wasps. This work will be carried out within 24 hours of notice.

• If there is NO risk an appointed Officer will place signs alerting the public to the bees or wasps and will monitor the area.


** A swarm that has not nested is likely to move on. In these instances, signs will be placed warning of the hazard however the insects will not be treated.


Treatment of bees or wasps will be undertaken by a qualified independent contractor if a Council Officer deems that there is a risk to the public.


Urgent matters where there is imminent danger or a life threatening hazard please telephone City of Burnside on 83664200 immediately (24 hours).

Requests will be assessed within 24 hours and scheduled and completed within 14 days. Thank you.
